Technical Consulting - short term projects with specific outcomes

Our focus area is microbial preservation technology and food safety. We have experience in most preservation processes including cook/chill, UHT, sterilisation, pasteurisation, hurdle technology, modified atmosphere, freeze drying, vacuum drying, desiccant air drying, refractive window drying, fluidised bed drying, spray drying, high pressure processing, plant hygiene and fermentation. MBC has a close working relationship with Quantal Biosciences. Combining the manufacturing experience of MBC with the higher level scientific and laboratory experience of Quantal delivers practical real-world solutions that are scientifically sound.

Manufacturing Cost Reduction

We have developed an approach to reducing manufacturing costs and have now implemented this in 6 x plants with sizes between $15M and $140M in sales per year. In each plant, we have reduced manufacturing costs by between 2% and 4% of net sales. The approach balances three components; empowerment of operators to suggest improvements, a business process to allow the suggestions to be effectively assessed and prioritized and high level technical input to identify additional opportunities. This is typically one day per week relationship over a time frame from six months to two years.
